Pueblo Bonito (Spanish for "beautiful city") is among the most well-known big houses in the world. This structure was constructed by the ancestors of Pueblos Oan, who inhabited it from 828 - 1126 ADVERTISEMENT. It is the most thoroughly looked into and celebrated cultural website in Mexico and the only one in The United States and Canada.Pueblo Bonito: Chaco Canyon Great Home New Mexico 15138773.jpg It was the center of the Khakian world, planned and integrated in stages from 850 to 1150 A.D. by the forefathers of the Pueblo people. Throughout this period, which archaeologists call the "Bonito phase," it was house to the biggest and most advanced of all the Pakooi groups residing in the Chacao Canyon. Most of the spaces in Pueblo Bonito were interpreted as homes for extended households or clans. This permits archaeologists to mention that there were a large number of households, possibly as numerous as 10,000 people.

The big houses were probably used to accommodate individuals who lived in the area, as opposed to royal houses or religious leaders. Each room is between 4 and five floors high, with single-storey spaces overlooking an open area. The square and one of the pit homes are individuals's homes, where the daily activities of the households happen. The site is particularly interesting because it is among the least excavated areas of Pueblo Bonito, which indicates that it is the most naturally maintained site in the location. Una Vida (equated as "a life") go back to around the time of Puebla Bonitos, around the very same time as the website. With its 160 rooms, it is not the biggest structure built by the Anasazi, but it provides an insight into the living conditions and lives of those who called it home. An example of a larger, bigger home is Hungo Pavi, which lies about 400 meters from the building. Regardless of its large footprint in Chaco Canyon, the researchers who excavated the structure have discovered little proof of life within its walls. Unlike artifacts discovered elsewhere in the Chacao Canyon, it offers extremely little to enhance what we understand about life around the San Juan Basin. The ruins of Hungo Pavi have more than 70 spaces and lie about 400 meters from the entrance of the Chacao Gorge to the San Juan Basin, about 1,000 meters south of the Chaco Canyon.
